An annual event held in February highlighting the positive contributions made by Africans and people of African descent in the diaspora. Embark on a tour of the infamous port town that was a Center for fort, Castle and Slave Dungeons of Ghana to the Asante traders and the British commercial and administrative capital for more than 200 years. It was built by the Swedes in 1653 and was later taken over by the British.

Itinerary
Day 1
Up arrival at Kotoka International Airport in Accra, our liaison will meet and assist you with transfer from the airport to your hotel for check in, orientation session and relaxation. Have buffet dinner.
Day 2
After breakfast, checkout of hotel and depart for Cape Coast with stop at Kakum National Park, a tropical rainforest expanding over 360sq km, 1,000 foot long made with seven-bridge walkway over 150 feet above the ground. Enjoy adventure walk to discover variety of exotic floral species and animals. After, walk through the dungeons and historic door of no return in Cape Coast Castle where slave trade was once central to the slave era. Cape Coast Castle is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was one of the departure points for Africans during Trans-Atlantic Slave trade. Check in to your hotel to relax and have dinner.
Day 3
After breakfast, we take a trip to visit Posuban shrine in Mankessim, then proceed to assin Manso Slave River designated as a memorial site to honor the victims of the slave trade where our ancestors had their final bath before being confined in the dungeons to await their forced journey to the Americas and Europe.
As part of the experience, a traditional naming ceremony will be held to symbolize returning home and reclaiming our identity. Afterwards, drive back to the hotel., relax by the pool and have dinner.
Day 4
After breakfast, checkout and set off to Kumasi on a 4-hour drive. Upon reaching Kumasi, check in to your hotel room to freshen up and then visit the Manhyia Palace Museum, the official residence of the Ashanti Kings until 1974. You will have an opportunity to visit the site where Okomfo Anokye plunged a sword into the ground to symbolize the founding of the Ashanti Kingdom, and the Golden Stool which was believed to have “descended from the sky” 300 years ago. End the day’s tour at Ntonso where artisans hand-stamp patterns on a cotton cloth to make Adinkra textiles. You will have hands-on experience on how to create your own Adinkra piece of fabric. Overnight stay including dinner.
Day 5
After breakfast, we check out and drive on a 5 and half hour trip to Accra with stops. Upon arrival, check in into your hotel room for rest. Buffet dinner included.
Day 6
Enjoy the day at leisure! Dinner included with live band music
Day 7
After breakfast, we will drive to Kwame Nkrumah memorial Park and the Independence square located down town Accra.
The sight holds significance to Ghana’s collective hope and dreams as people who made our struggle a powerful statement of independence.
You will end your guided tour with a visit to Makola, an open street market in the vibrant capital city of Ghana. Buffet dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 8
Base on your flight itinerary an airport drop-off will be arranged and your tour guide will be available till you say goodbye for final departure home.
